Network Live Monitor Privacy Notice
Last updated: 15 October 2026
This notice applies only to the JagaSec Network Live Monitor Windows application and explains its local-first data handling.
This is a local application. The cloud IT Asset Management platform and the public JagaSec website have separate privacy notices.
1. Information stored by the app
Network Live Monitor stores the device names and IP addresses you add, application settings, status and response history, recent events and log archives on the Windows computer where it runs. The app does not require a JagaSec account and does not upload this monitoring data to JagaSec.
2. Network activity
The app sends ICMP checks to the IP addresses a user adds for monitoring. These checks are necessary to show whether a configured device is reachable. Only add devices and addresses you are authorized to monitor.
The version downloaded from GitHub also checks whether a newer release exists. That check runs automatically, a couple of minutes after the app starts and then once a day, in the background. It asks GitHub for the current release number and nothing else. GitHub receives the request IP address and a fixed identifier for the application. It does not receive your device list, your monitored addresses, your status history, your logs or your installed version.
From version 2.2.3 you can turn this check off under Settings, Updates, Check for updates automatically. With it off the app makes no outbound connection at all unless you press Check for Updates yourself. The app installed from Microsoft Store never performs this check, because Store installations are updated by the Store.
3. No product telemetry
Network Live Monitor does not send JagaSec usage analytics, device lists, monitored addresses, status history or event logs. It does not contain third-party advertising or advertising trackers.
4. Microsoft Store and GitHub
Microsoft Store installations and updates are delivered by Microsoft. Direct installer releases are delivered through the public JagaSec GitHub release channel. When you open or download through either service, Microsoft or GitHub may receive standard request and account information under its own terms. The automatic release check described in section 2 also reaches GitHub on a schedule, and the same GitHub terms apply to it. Review the Microsoft Privacy Statement or GitHub Privacy Statement for those interactions.
5. Support information
The app does not automatically send diagnostic files to JagaSec. If you contact Support, we receive only the email address, message, screenshots, logs or other details you choose to send. Remove secrets and unrelated personal information before attaching a screenshot or log. Support communications are covered by the Website & Support Privacy Notice.
6. Retention and your control
Monitoring data remains under the Windows user's control. Recent events and automatic archives are kept according to the app's configured behavior; older event archives can be managed in the local archive folder. You can edit or remove monitored devices, delete local history and archives, or uninstall the app using Windows. Normal updates are designed to preserve settings and history.
7. Security and shared computers
Access to local monitoring information depends on the security of the Windows account and computer. Use an appropriately protected Windows account, keep Windows updated, and restrict access to exported files and logs. No software or device can guarantee absolute security.
8. Intended users
The application is intended for organizations and technical staff, not children. JagaSec does not knowingly use the application to collect personal information directly from children.
9. Changes
We may update this notice when the application's behavior or distribution channels change. The date above identifies the current version, and we will provide additional notice where required for a material change.
